18th  Carlisle Scouts


                             for boys aged 6 to 8 years  

The group meets on Mondays during term time in the church’s

Primary Room between 5.30pm and 6.30pm

Topics include Road Safety,  Home Safety,  Looking after animals,  Holidays, Cooking and Crafts.

The boys enjoy undertaking lots of badge and challenge work, and aim to spend a night away from home each year.

                      for boys aged 8 to 10½  years

Wednesday 6.15pm to 7.45pm during term time, in the main hall.

Challenges – Creative, Outdoor, Fitness, Community and Global cover a variety of activities which are geared to gradual improvement, not set targets. The cubs do activities in ‘Sixes’ and teamwork as well as individual development is encouraged. The main word is FUN.

                      for boys aged 10½ to 14 years          

Fridays   7.30pm to 9.30pm during term time, in the main hall.

Outdoor activities; Camping, Climbing, Abseiling etc.

Indoor Activities; Challenges – Adventure, Community, Creative, Expedition, Fitness, Global, Outdoor and Outdoor Plus.

Based on the “Patrol System”, involving small groups working and playing together; usually led by someone of a similar age, supported and guided by adults.

                                         usually aged between 14 and 18 years

Known as the Border Explorer Scout Unit, they meet every Thursday  between 7.00pm and 9.00pm

Activities are designed to be flexible, in order to meet the physical, intellectual and social needs of young people during their hectic lives.

The Explorers take part in activities that develop decision making, leadership, teamwork, and communication, planning and organisational skills.
